Apple TV+ takes home Oscar for Best Animated Short Film

Those who watched the 2023 Oscars on Sunday could see that a production available on Apple TV+ won Best Animated Short Film.

The short film The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is a co-production of Apple and BBC, with executive production by one Jony Ive.

Charlie Mackesy’s best-selling book comes to life in this beautiful film from NoneMore and Bad Robot Productions. Follow the unlikely union of four friends as they explore the meaning of kindness, courage, and hope.

The film is 30 minutes long and premiered worldwide during the week of Christmas.

For next year, Apple’s presence at the Oscars is expected to be even stronger, with some titles that may have a chance to win the statuette. Killers of the Flower Moon, by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is an example. Napoleon, by Ridley Scott, with Joaquin Phoenix, is another potential contender.
